Blood Tests

Vitamin D
25(OH)D is an essential vitamin only obtained through your pet's diet. This test evaluates Vitamin D level, and provides dosing guidelines if insufficient. Low Vitamin D is associated with various diseases.

Folate
Folate is an essential vitamin that is made by bacteria in the gut and absorbed through diet. Folate deficiencies can indicate poor nutrition or gastrointestinal issues.

C-Reactive Protein (CRP)
CRP is a test for inflammation. Systemic inflammation should be identified, managed, or resolved in order to ensure a healthy pet. CRP is the base test for many EnergenDx wellness panels.

Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid is a test for joint degeneration. It typically stays within the joint capsule and acts to lubricate the joint. When HA levels are elevated, it indicates degenerative joint disease such as osteoarthritis.

RBC Magnesium
RBC magnesium is a way to measure the intracellular magnesium levels in patients suspected of magnesium deficiency.

Glucose/Insulin
Glucose and Insulin are used to determine and manage diabetes in pets, and for early detection of diabetes in the at-risk animal.

Cancer Risk Assessment
For high risk or older dogs, the Cancer Risk Assessment (CRA) is designed to give the relative risk of cancer in the coming 6 months. A true screening test based off a body of published studies.

Heartworm/Tick
Detection of heartworm and tickborne illness through simple blood test. When identified, appropriate treatment is recommended.

HbA1c
Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is a test for determining and managing diabetes. A1c is a measure of the average blood sugar level over the previous 2 to 3 months - a valuable tool to see if treatment is working.

True allergies (not insensitivities) can be the underlying cause of many issues in pets. Identifying these allergies can help you resolve some common and chronic issues.
